Winchcombe to Cheltenham

Leaving Winchcombe, you will pass through Cleeve Hill, one of the highest points in the Cotswolds, around 1,082ft above see level and around 6 miles from Winchcombe.

Cleeve Hill has some spectacular views, located in an area of outstanding natural beauty. From some places it is possible to view Gloucester Cathedral, Tewkesbury Abbey and the Malverns.

Making your way in to Cheltenham, you will be faced with one of Britain's most complete Regency towns. Cheltenham, once a small market town, dates back nearly 300 years, since the discovery of a natural spring, which led to the development of the spa town. A beautiful town, Cheltenham is never short for its events. There is lots to do and see,

from its beautiful flower displays, to the many festivals and shows to which it hosts.

Whilst walking the Cotswold way, you should allow time to make detours, taking in some of the great history and sights that lie within the Cotswolds.
