Hawksbury Upton to Bath

Now around twenty four miles from finishing the Cotswold Way walk, leaving Hawksbury Upton you will enter Little Sodbury and Old Sodbury.

Little Sodbury is home to a fine medieval manor house, just south of the village, where William Tyndale (the priest who first translated the New Testament into English) was tutor in 1522-23. Leaving Little Sodbury and Old Sodbury, passing through Tormarton, mentioned in the Doomsday Book, and through Pennsylvania you will arrive at Cold Aston. Cold Ashton is a high wold village, whose church is worth exploring, it contains beautifully carved 16th century wood work. Next door to the rectory you will see Cold Ashton's Elizabethan Manor with its high chimneys and elaborate gateway. Leaving Cold Ashton, you are on the last leg of the walk, only eight miles left.

On reaching the end of the walk, you will arrive in the beautiful city of Bath, rich in history and architecture, with a visit to some of its museums and art galleries worth your while. Also take time to visit the countries only hot springs, and the magnificent Bath Abbey.
